위치
광주의 중심인 상무 지구와 접해있는 마륵동은 새로 연결되는 나주혁신도시-완도 간 고속도로의 광주 주 진입부에 위치한다. 또 첨단지구로 이어지는 광주개발계획의 남북축 중심에 있다. 녹색이 가득한 백석산 서쪽에 위치한 대지에선 벽진동 논밭과 도시 불빛이 가득한 상무 지구를 볼 수 있다.

건축 공간
마륵공간은 건축물, 야생화중정마당, 주차공간 세 영역으로 구성돼 있다. 화강석으로 마감된 길을 따라 야생화 마당, 수 공간, 백석산 풍경을 바라보며 건축물을 접근하게끔 만들어졌다. 저층부 유리로 마감된 건축물은 야생화 및 수공간의 모습을 반사하고 투영하면서 밖과 안의 공간이 관계를 맺고 지반고 위치를 확인할 수 있도록 해준다. 거친 자연석과 부드러운 질감의 대리석은 건축물의 형태와 공간을 만들고, 자연재료를 다듬어 만든 마감은 우리에게 보다 친근감을 갖도록 한다.  

야생화 중정마당
야생화로 가득한 중정마당은 야생화 길과 수 공간으로 만들어져 있다. 높낮이가 다른 건축물 내부에서 바라보는 야생화 길과 수 공간은 자연과 함께 있다는 느낌을 선사한다. 녹색 백석산과 연결된 덕에 녹색의 공간이 더욱 확장되고, 주제를 반복하며 연출한다.

Location
Mareuk-dong, adjacent to Sangmu District, the center of Gwangju, is located at the main entrance of Gwangju from the newly connected Naju Innovation City-Wando Expressway. And it is at the heart of the north-south axis of the Gwangju Development Plan, leading to the high-technology district. The site nestled in the foot of western Baekseoksan Mountain with greenery overlooks not only rice and paddy fields in Byeokjin-dong but also Sangmu District full of city lights.

Architectural Space
Mareuk Space is composed of three areas: building, wildflower courtyard, and parking space. The design intention is to approach the building while looking at the wildflower garden, water space, and Mt. Baekseoksan landscape along the granite-finished path. The building finished with low-rise glass reflects and projects the view of wildflowers and water space to relate the indoor and outdoor spaces and check the ground level's location. The rough natural stone and soft texture of marble create the shape and space of the building, and the finish made by refining natural materials makes it more familiar.

Wildflower Courtyard
The courtyard yard is full of wildflowers with a wildflower path and a water space. The wildflower path and water space viewed from the inside of the building with different heights make you feel that you are with nature. Also, it is connected to the green Baekseok Mountain to expand the green space further.
It repeats and directs the theme.
