Dream World

진도대교가 보이는 바다에 바로 면한 부지다. 건축주는 모든 실에서 이 경관을 바라볼 수 있길 원했고, 이를 위해 원형 파사드를 제안했다. 대신 일자로 쭉 올라가는 단순한 디자인이 아닌, 각 실의 크기와 기능에 맞게 마치 물결이 서로 겹치듯 여러 개의 원을 중첩시켰다. 1∼2층 카페는 원 형태를 따라 창을 최대한 크게 둘렀다. 3층 펜션 원형엔 사각 매스를 삽입했고, 발코니를 크게 키워 야외 풀장을 설치했다. 조형미를 살리기 위해 입면은 깨끗한 백색 스타코로 마감했다.

The site faces the sea with the backdrop of the Jindo Bridge. The client wanted to have this view from all rooms, so we suggested the circular plan. Instead of a simple extrusion of the circular shape, we overlapped several circles to suit the size and function of rooms as if waves overlap each other. The windows of the café on the first and second floors are open as large as possible along the circle. The pension on the third-floor protrudes as a square mass with an outdoor pool in a large balcony. The elevation was finished with clean white stucco to highlight its formal beauty.
