맥락과 조건

 

상도동 아파트 단지 건너 25미터 도로변에 접한 삼각형 모양의 필지이다. 83제곱미터 정도의 크기로 보행이 많은 도로변으로 1,2층에 임대형 근린생활시설, 3,4층 및 다락은 주인주택으로 구성되는 프로그램이다. 좁은 협소주택으로 길과 연계된 상업 적 공간과 상층부 거주공간의 건축적 구성이 중요한 조건이다.

 

도시필지의 형태성

 

필지의 형상인 삼각형은 그대로 건축 형태화된다. 여기에 저층 부 상업 기능인 주차와 진입계단, 상층부 주거 기능인 테라스 등이 삼각형 형상을 변화시키는 방식으로 작동한다. 인위적인 입면구성이 아니라 건축 기능의 공간적 모습이 그대로 표출되 고 있는 것이다. 이 같은 풍부한 이미지의 건축적 형태는 부정 형의 자투리 도시필지가 가진 부정적 이미지를 도시에 활력을 불어넣는 긍정적 이미지로 전환시켜준다. 이정표로서 도시환경 과 상호작용하게 되는 것이다.

 

도시가로의 중첩성

 

좁은 필지의 진입동선은 가로에 면한 계단이 유일하다. 우리는 저층부 상업공간과 상층부 거주공간의 사용자가 공유하는 계 단 동선이면서 도시가로와 연계된 다양한 연출의 역할을 할 수 있는 계단이 되고자 계획했다. 보행로와 이어진 계단은 1,2층 내부공간과 중첩되면서 다중적인 경계성을 드러낸다. 여기에 더해 수직 루버의 그라데이션 되는 시각적 효과는 중첩된 도시 이미지로 건축의 깊이감과 다중적 연출을 더해주고 있다. 익명 의 오가는 사람과 건축의 사용자 간의 상호작용하는 경계적 계 단은 도시가로의 작은 표상이 되고 있다.

Context and condition

 

It is a triangular-shaped plot on the roadside 25 meters across from the apartment complex in Sangdo-dong. With a siz e of about 83m² and many pedestrians, it is a program consisting of a residential neighborhood facility on the first and second floors, as well as the client’s house on the third and fourth floors and attic. The architectural composition of the commercial space connected with the road and the upperfloorresidential space is important condition forthis narrow house.

 

Configuration of urban plot

 

The triangle, which is the shape of the plot, is converted int o an architectural form as it is. In addition, lower-floor commercial functions such a s parking and entry stairs, and upper-floor residential functions such as terraces ar e operated b y changing the shape of triangle. It is not an artificial elevation composition, but the spatial featur e of architectural function is expressed as it is. The architectural form of such a varied image transforms the negative imag e of a little piece of irregular urban land int o a positiv e image that energizes the city. It is a milestone that interacts with urban environment.

 

Overlap of urban street

 

The only entrance flow o f the narrow site i s the staircase facing the street. We planned t o make a stairway that can be shared b y the users of lower-floor commercial space and upper-floor residential space, and that can serv e as diverse directing connected with the urban street. The stairway leading t o the walkway overlaps with the inner space of the first and second floors, revealing multiple boundaries. In addition t o this, the gradational visual effect of the vertical louver adds a sense of depth and multi-directing of architecture with an overlapped city image. The interactiveboundary stairwaybetweenanonymous travelers andtheusers ofthebuildingisbecoming a smallrepresentation ofthe urban street.

 

Residence of narrow housing

 

The upper two floors and the loft consist of a stack of narrow unit area. Here, w e are securing th e residence o f the residential space b y the construction strategy o f vertical stairs and multi storied-terraces. I f you walk up the straight stairs through the second floor entrance, the vertical stairs leading t o the third and fourth floors and the attic are directed as an objet. Along with the light coming down through a skylight, the stairway plays a visual and spatial role at the same time in a narrow space. In addition, it is connected t o the third-floor living room terrace, the fourth-floor central terrace, and the roof terrace, the narrow space creates the effect of expanding vertically and horizontally. Here, the space of life is no longer confined t o the inside, but the experience of expanding into the surrounding environment makes a life more colorful.
