사당새마을금고는 지역 주민들과 함께 성장해 온 금고로, 시장과 접해 있어 지역사회와 밀접하게 연결되어 있다. 어려운 시절, 주민들이 느티나무 아래에서 모여 슬픔과 기쁨을 나누고, 작은 것까지 함께 나누었던 그 정신을 이어가는 곳이 바로 사당새마을금고이다.
이 느티나무는 금고의 상징이자, 정신을 이어가는 장소로 기능하고 있다. 복잡한 도시 속, 사람들의 이동이 많은 이곳에서 우리는 사당새마을금고의 이미지를 더욱 강화하기 위해, 금고의 앞마당을 비워두었다.
이렇게 마련된 공간은 주민들에게 개방감을 제공하며, 지역 행사나 플리마켓 등 다양한 커뮤니티 활동을 위한 장소로 활용된다. 또한, 임대 효율성을 고려하여 전후면 발코니를 설치해 공간에 여유를 주었으며, 발코니는 세련된 사선 형태로 디자인하여 전면 파사드를 구성, 금고가 세련된 상가로 인식될 수 있도록 했다.
옥상에는 직원들의 휴식 공간을 마련하기 위해 정원을 조성하고, 돌출된 전망대를 설치해 도시의 멋진 풍경을 즐길 수 있는 공간을 제공했다.

Sadang Saemaeul Geumgo is a community credit union that has grown together with local residents. Located right next to the market, it is closely woven into everyday neighborhood life.
In difficult times, people gathered under the zelkova tree to share both sorrow and joy, and to look after even the smallest needs together. Sadang Saemaeul Geumgo carries on that spirit. The zelkova tree has become both the credit union’s symbol and a place where this sense of community continues.
In this busy part of the city, with constant movement of people, we left the front yard open to strengthen the credit union’s presence and identity. This open space offers a sense of relief and openness in daily life, and can also serve as a venue for community activities such as local events and flea markets.
To improve leasing efficiency and provide more generous interior space, balconies were added to both the front and rear. Designed with a refined diagonal profile, the balcony line shapes the main façade, helping the credit union be recognized as a modern, welldesigned retail building.
On the rooftop, a garden was created as a break area for staff, along with a projecting lookout deck that offers a place to enjoy the city’s views.
