취향의 아름다움, 호미양양
좋을 호(好), 아름다울 미(美), 큰 바다 양(洋) 그리고 다시 한 번 큰 바다 양(洋).

호미양양은 ‘취향의 아름다움(好美)이 듬뿍 담긴 공간(洋洋)’을 뜻하며, 게스트에게 공유하고 싶은 취향이 가득 담겨 있는 공간이다. 이러한 생각이 바탕이 된 호미양양은 아주 자연스럽게, 건축의 최대면적 확보와 그에 따른 효율성과 생산성보다는 건축주의 취향과 게스트가 만나는 다양한 접점에서의 경험을 가장 우선시하였다. 하조대해수욕장 일대가 관광휴양형 지구단위계획구역으로 지정되어 높은 용적률을 허용하고 있다는 것을 감안하면 단층의 3개동으로 구성된 계획은 대담한 선택이었다. 

서핑과 자유로움, 젊은 활기로 대표되는 양양의 다른 해변가와 비교해 평화롭고 가족단위의 여행객들이 많은 하조대 바닷가의 분위기는 건축물의 초기계획과 공간 구상에 큰 영향을 주었다. 바다가 주는 활력과 하조대의 평화로움을 동시에 담기 위하여 건축물의 배치는 정적으로 하되 반짝이는 골함석과 폴리카보네이트, 유리블록 등 다양한 물질들을 조합하고, 다양한 장면들이 중첩되도록 건축물과 담장의 오프닝을 계획하여 바다를 상징하고 자유로움을 표현하고자 했다. 

3개 동으로 이루어진 건축물은 하나의 조형이면서도 각 동이 완전히 분리되어야 했다. 전면의 컨시어지동과 2개의 독채는 주출입부 중정을 공유하며, 이곳을 중심으로 골목길처럼 나누어진 길을 따라가다 보면 프라이빗한 각 동의 현관에 다다르게 된다. 대지의 후면을 향하는 2개 동의 정원은 같은 방향을 바라보지만, 하부가 오픈된 독립 구조물과 수공간으로 인해 서로의 시선적 프라이버시를 확보한다.

The Beauty of Taste, HO ME YANG YANG
Homiyangyang means ‘a space filled with the beauty of taste’, and it is a space filled with tastes that guests want to share. Based on this thought, HO ME YANG YANG naturally prioritized the experience at the various points of contact between the client's taste and the guest rather than securing the maximum architectural area and the resulting efficiency and productivity. Considering that the ‘Hajodae Beach’ area is designated as a tourism and recreation district unit planning zone, allowing for a high floor area ratio, the plan consisting of three single-story buildings was a bold choice.

Compared to other beaches in Yangyang, which is represented by surfing, freedom and youthful vigor, the atmosphere of Hajodae Beach, which is more peaceful and frequented by families, greatly influenced the initial plan and spatial design of the building. In order to capture the vitality of the sea and the peace of the sea at the same time, the layout of the building is static, but various materials such as metal corrugated, stone, polycarbonate, and glass blocks are combined, and the opening of the building and fence is planned so that various scenes overlap. It was intended to symbolize and express freedom.

The three-tory building had to be completely separated from each other even though it was a single model. The front concierge building and the two private houses share the main entrance and exit courtyard, and if you follow the divided road like an alley around this place, you will come to a private entrance to each building. The gardens of the two buildings facing the rear of the site face the same direction, but the independent structure with the lower part and the water space secure each other's visual privacy.
