Urok-ri House

 

 

 

2018년 1월의 어느 날, 가창면 우록리에 있는 부지로 현장조사를 갔다. 차를 타고 마을을 지나 그리 넓지 않은 길에 도착했다. 첫인상은 도로 공사로 인한 토목 옹벽이 주변 환경과 이질적이라는 느낌이었다. 그러나 주택이 들어설 곳으로 다다랐을 때, 눈에 들어오는 주변 산세는 감탄을 자아내기에 충분했다. 

계획의 시작은 대지가 갖는 강력한 경관과 건축주의 삶을 부족하지 않게 담을 수 있는 겸손한 공간을 준비하는 것으로 시작했다. 긴 수평적 프레임 속에 잔잔하고 따뜻한 삶을 담을 수 있게 하면서, 형태와 재료의 사용을 최소화해 주변에 스며들 수 있도록 노력했다. 

특성은 북동쪽으로 열려있고 나머지 부분은 능선으로 둘러싸인 형상을 하고 있었다. 주된 경관의 방향은 북동쪽으로 향하고 있었고, 남쪽에는 능선이 있어서 전망과 채광의 환경이 일치하지 않아 내부 공간과 외부적 조건들을 어떻게 조화롭게 연결할 것인지가 중요한 핵심 계획으로 인지되었다.

주된 휴식공간이면서 유희 공간인 다이닝 부분을 주된 경관 부분과 연결하고, 주된 작업 공간이며 활동 공간인 황토방, 보조주방을 남향 배치했다. 2층 부분은 서재와 손님 공간으로서의 역할을 겸할 수 있도록 고려했다.

건물과 주변이 구분되지 않게, 조화롭게 존재할 수 있고, 사용자와 주변이 행복한 공간이 될 수 있기를 기대해 본다.

I went to the site in Urok-ri, Gachang-myeon for a field survey one day in January 2018. After passing through the village, I arrived by car on a not very wide road. The first impression was that the civil retaining wall due to the road construction was different from the surrounding environment. However, when we arrived at the place where the house was to be located, the view of the surrounding mountains was enough to arouse admiration.

The plan began with preparing a modest space that could contain the powerful landscape of the site and the life of the client. I tried to contain a calm and warm life in a long horizontal frame and to permeate the surroundings by minimizing the use of shapes and materials.

The feature is open to the northeast, and the rest of it has a shape surrounded by ridges. The direction of the main landscape was toward the northeast, and there was a ridge in the south, so the view and lighting environment did not match, so how to harmoniously connect the interior space and external conditions was recognized as an important planning pointer.

The dining part, which is the main resting and entertaining space, is connected to the main landscape part, and the red clay room, which is the main work space and activity space, and the auxiliary kitchen are placed facing south. The second floor was considered so that it could serve as both a study and a guest space.

I hope that the building and its surroundings can exist harmoniously without being separated, and that the users and surroundings can be a happy space.
