내비게이션은 동네의 좁디 좁다란 골목길을 지나 막다른 도로 끝 대지를 마주하게 하였다. 
폭은 좁고 길이는 아주 긴 형태의 대지였다. 진입도로를 빼고는 모든 방향이 건물로 둘러싸여 있었다. 마주한 인접 대지만 9개 필지에 달한다. 
지팡이처럼 긴 대지의 가장 넓은 폭은 7.5미터, 좁은 폭은 3.9미터, 길이는 무려 32미터나 되었다. 설상가상으로 도로의 현황은 인접대지 불법건축물로 인해 3미터밖에 되지 않았고, 여기에 접한 대지의 폭은 주차 크기의 5미터도 확보가 안 되는 땅이었다. 

주차는 차량의 회전반경을 이용한 계획으로 시와 협의하고 나머지 계획을 진행하였다.
차량이 들어오는 곳을 비우면서 회전반경 구간에 건물 진입로를 계획하였다. 북쪽 방향의 폭이 넓은 대지 쪽으로 건물을 배치하고, 주차 반경을 확보하여 필로티로 세웠으며 차량진출입로를 피해 벽체를 세웠다. 이 벽체는 구조적인 기능을 충족시키면서 차폐의 성격을 가지는 독특한 모양의 벽체다. 2층 테라스 남쪽의 확 트인 뷰를 확보하면서, 동쪽의 집들을 가려 사생활 보호가 된다. 
두 가구의 계획 대신 내부 계단을 이용하여 부모님 세대를 층으로 구분하고, 좁은 면적을 보완할 개방감을 찾고자 진입로 필로티 상부 2층에는 테라스를 계획하고 3층의 거실 한쪽 면에 오픈형 천장과 창호를 배치하였다.
주위 건물들에 둘러싸여 취약한 채광은 낮은 건물들이 있는 진입로 쪽 서측과 남측으로 거실 및 안방의 주 생활공간을 두어 보완하였다.  
옥상공간은 내부계단과 통해 있고 탁 트인 전망을 제공한다. 대지의 형태처럼 중간을 가로지르는 긴 벽은 1층부터 옥상까지 올라와 너무 인접해있는 건물과의 가림막 역할도 해주면서 외관상의 포인트를 주기도 한다.

약 6개월간의 설계와 11개월의 공사를 마무리 지으며, 클라이언트뿐만 아니라 인근 주민분들이 집이 하늘에서 떨어진 것 같다며 신기해했다. 테트리스의 마지막 긴 막대기처럼 제자리로 들어간 형태로 딱 이곳에 딱 들어맞았다.
그래서 이 주택의 이름을 테트리스하우스 (TETRIS HOUSE)라 지었다.

The navigation showed a narrow alleyway and the site at the end of the road.
The site was narrow and quite long. Except for the adjacent road, all the directions were blocked by buildings.
'How could the shape of a site look like this…' The number of adjoining sites was 9.
This long site looked like a stick, and it was from 3.9 to 7.5 meters wide and 32 meters long.
To make matters worse, the current state of the road was only 3 meters long due to illegal construction on the adjacent site, and the width of the land adjacent to this site was not even 5 meters size for a parking space.

Plan for parking area was using radius of gyration of the vehicle, and the rest of the plan was carried out in consultation with the city. The access at entrance was planned within the turning radius section while vacating the vehicle’s driveway. The building was located on the wider site in the north direction, a piloti was formed, as securing a parking radius, and a wall was made avoiding the vehicle access road. This unique shaped wall serves structural functions and can be a screen for privacy at the same time. Plus, the residents can enjoy the clear scenery from the upstairs terrace in south. The houses facing the east direction are covered for privacy.

Instead of separating to two houses, we divided the space for each family by floors. To complement the narrow space and get the sense of openness, we planned a terrace on the 2nd floor (upper part of the driveway piloti) and the open-type ceiling and the large windows in one side the living room on the 3rd floor.

Surrounded by neighbor buildings, the deficient lighting was supplemented by placing the main living space in the living room and the master bedroom on the west and south sides of the access road with low-rise buildings. The rooftop space is connected to the inside staircase and provides an unobstructed view of the surroundings. Like the shape of the site, the long-shaped wall that crosses the middle rises from the first floor to the top floor, serves as a shield from the buildings that are too adjacent, giving an external stunning piece.

Finishing this project (6 months of design and 11 months of construction), not only the clients but also the local residents were so amazed that the house seemed to have fallen from the sky. It snapped right into place like the last long stick of Tetris. 

That is why we named the house ‘TETRIS HOUSE’. 
Perfectly, falling into place.
